Recently, I’ve tried a couple of Quest nutrition products and compared how they interacted with my BG levels. I have to say right off the bat, I’m pleased.
The first one I tried was the “Quest Protein Shake.” It boast a mere 3g of carbs with 30g’s of protein and only 1g of sugar. The calorie total is 160. Take a look at the photo below.
As a chocolate lover, I must say this vanilla is delicious! |
The Flavor
Okay for starters, I’m not a vanilla guy. I love chocolate. Especially when drinking a shake like this. Having said that, It’s been my experience that protein shake’s version of “chocolate” or “vanilla” isn’t the same version as what I’m accustomed to tasting. In many cases, the taste was a chalky/clumpy cardboard-like blend that when swallowed only finished with a hint of chocolate or vanilla aftertaste.
It’s not like that with this shake. Even though I prefer chocolate, I did enjoy this vanilla shake very much when I drank it cold. The texture was smooth and not chalky or clumpy. It tasted as good as you would want your vanilla flavor to be. That’a boy Quest!
The Results
I added the daily graph screenshot from the Libre app. Sometimes it’s nice to see a graph instead of the logbook. |
Outstanding! It’s always a plus to intake calories and it be a non-event on the FreeStyle Libre!
